A separate closure on Abbey Road in West Bridgford, caused by a gas leak, is affecting several bus routes.

A52 – overnight closure between Bottesford and Barrowby

The current phase of the National Highways maintenance programme continues tonight.

The A52 between Bottesford and Barrowby is scheduled to close in both directions between 20:00 and 06:00.

The programme began on Tuesday 3 November and continues through Friday 6 November.

The works include drainage improvements, safety barrier inspections, vegetation clearance, road sweeping and grass cutting.

A signed diversion operates using the A46 and A1 via Newark.

Lay-bys between Bingham and Barrowby remain closed continuously until 06:00 on Saturday 7 November.

The restrictions are particularly relevant to motorists travelling between Nottingham, Bingham, Bottesford and Grantham.

The programme is weather-dependent, and closure arrangements may change.

A52 – Wheatcroft and Nottingham Knight

The A52 improvement programme continues around Wheatcroft and Nottingham Knight junctions.

National Highways-derived roadworks information lists lane restrictions affecting the A52 between the A46 and A6011, together with sections around the A606 and A60 junctions.

Several overnight restrictions are scheduled to finish at 06:00 this morning, with further restrictions advertised for tonight.

The latest roadworks listings include eastbound and westbound lane closures around the junction improvement area.

The precise status of individual lanes at 06:10 has not been independently confirmed.

Motorists should allow additional time when travelling through Wheatcroft, Gamston and Nottingham Knight, particularly during the morning and evening peaks.

West Bridgford – Abbey Road closure caused by gas leak

A closure on Abbey Road remains a significant local issue.

trentbarton confirms that Abbey Road has been closed because of a gas leak.

The operator’s notice, issued on Tuesday 3 November, remains listed among its current travel alerts.

The closure is affecting mainline, rushcliffe villager and the cotgrave services.

Buses travelling from Nottingham towards Cotgrave, Radcliffe-on-Trent and Bingham cannot turn left from Davies Road onto Abbey Road.

Several normal stops are consequently unavailable.

Nottingham City Transport also confirms that Green 12, 12C and 12E are remaining on Davies Road because of works on Abbey Road.

Affected stops include Abbey Road at Davies Road, Violet Road and Cyril Road on Radcliffe Road.

Neither operator has provided a confirmed reopening date in the available notices. trentbarton

A60 Loughborough Road – Green 10 diversion continues

Towards Nottingham, buses leave Ruddington Church and travel via High Street, Wilford Road, Landmere Lane, Europa Way and Loughborough Road before resuming their normal route.

Towards Ruddington, buses follow their normal route to Greythorn Drive Top before diverting via Loughborough Road, Europa Way, Landmere Lane and Wilford Road.

Services resume their normal route from Ruddington High Street.

Several stops along the normal route cannot be served.

These include stops around Cumberland Close, Rufford Road, Upper and Lower Canaan, Oakham Road and Landmere Lane.

West Bridgford – Radcliffe Road traffic lights

Daytime roadworks continue on Radcliffe Road near its junction with Abbey Road.

Temporary traffic lights are scheduled between 09:30 and 15:30 each weekday until Friday 4 December.

The works form part of Nottinghamshire County Council’s programme to improve pedestrian and cycling facilities.

NCT warns that Green 12 and Pathfinder 90 may experience delays.

The restrictions are separate from the Abbey Road closure caused by the gas leak.

Nottingham – Maid Marian Way congestion continues

Demolition of the former Broad Marsh NCP car park continues to affect traffic through Nottingham city centre.

NCT maintains its warning that the works have caused severe congestion across the city centre and surrounding roads.

The operator says services are experiencing severe delays and short-notice cancellations.

This is a continuing network warning rather than confirmation that every individual bus is delayed this morning.

Temporary stopping arrangements remain in operation for several routes.

Turquoise 77/C, 78/A/B and 79/B services use Talbot Street, Shakespeare Street and North Church Street before terminating on Burton Street alongside The Cornerhouse.

Outbound journeys towards Strelley and Bulwell depart from Burton Street stop T7.

Navy 1, 4 and 48/A, together with Pathfinder 90, are not serving Maid Marian Way stop M5 towards the city centre.

Red 45/B passengers should use stop M2 outside Nottingham Lighting Centre instead of the stop near The Salutation.

The arrangements are expected to continue throughout the demolition works. Nottingham City Transport

NCT says live predictions on its app and website will continue to operate.

The update does not represent a change to the bus timetable itself.
