There are significant changes for bus passengers from today, while East Midlands Railway is increasing its Intercity timetable following the Bank Holiday strike disruption.
Roads and motorways
No major new unplanned closure has been identified in the early checks affecting the M1 through Nottinghamshire, A1, A46 or A52.
Motorists should nevertheless expect the normal build-up of traffic on approaches into Nottingham as the morning peak develops, particularly on the A52, A453, A610 and Clifton Boulevard.
The major A614/A6097 improvement programme continues, including work at Lowdham Roundabout and the Kirk Hill junction at East Bridgford. The corridor scheme covers a series of junction improvements between Ollerton and Lowdham.
At East Bridgford, Kirk Hill and East Bridgford Road remain closed as part of the long-term construction programme.

Rail – more EMR trains return from today
There is an improvement for rail passengers following the heavily reduced Bank Holiday service.
East Midlands Railway increases its Intercity timetable from today, Tuesday 1 September, from around 87% to 92% of the full planned timetable.
The change reinstates three previously cancelled weekday Nottingham services, as well as five weekday Sheffield services.
However, this is not yet a return to the full timetable. EMR’s temporary reduced Intercity timetable remains in force until further notice because of train performance and reliability problems.
RMT action short of a strike also remains in place, meaning trains can still be altered or cancelled at short notice. Further strike action is scheduled for Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 September.

Trams
Two services are not running today – 07:53 from Hucknall, 09:00 from Toton Lane.
Buses – several changes begin today
There is a substantial set of Nottingham City Transport service changes beginning today.
At Victoria Centre, works on Milton Street are expanding from the start of service. Pink 28 and 30 are temporarily moving from their Victoria Centre stops to Burton Street alongside The Cornerhouse until the works are completed.
Sherwood Rise is partially closed from 07:00 today until Saturday 5 September. Yellow 68, 69, 70 and 71 towards Bulwell divert via Mansfield Road, Hucknall Road and Haydn Road.
Hollington Road closes between 08:00 and 17:00 today, with the daytime closures continuing through Thursday 3 September. Pink 28 diverts via Beechdale Road, Bathurst Drive and Wigman Road.
From 09:30 to 15:30, Robin Hood Way in The Meadows closes for daytime works, affecting Navy 48. These closures continue daily until Friday 4 September.
Today is also the scheduled final day of weekday resurfacing on Nuthall Road, affecting Turquoise 78 and 79 towards Strelley and Bulwell between 07:30 and 16:00.
CT4N replacement services – major change today
There is also a significant improvement to services affected by the collapse of CT4N.
Nottingham City Transport begins the full 18, 18A, 18B and 18X timetable today, replacing the interim hourly 18 introduced after CT4N ceased trading.
The expanded service increases buses to Beeston Rylands to every 30 minutes, restores links between Wollaton, Bramcote and Beeston, and brings back the weekday 18X express between Stapleford and Nottingham via the A52.
Replacement L2, L4 and L14 services are also due to begin today as replacement arrangements continue following CT4N’s closure.
Other continuing bus disruption
Main Street in Woodborough remains subject to daytime closures until Friday 4 September, affecting Sky Blue 61.
At City Hospital, Linden Way remains closed until further notice, affecting Blue 40A.
Gas works on Queens Road are also continuing to cause delays to the 18, with the Salisbury Street stop towards Beeston and Stapleford closed.
Coming up this week
Further disruption begins tomorrow. Overnight works on High Road and Chilwell Road will affect the early-morning Orange 36 from 2 to 5 September.
From Thursday 3 September, Cotgrave Lane in Tollerton closes between 07:30 and 19:00 each day until 9 September, diverting Green 12, 12C and 12E via Tollerton Lane, Melton Road and Cotgrave Road.
