Nottinghamshire weather for Thursday 13 August

Thursday  13 August is forecast to be dry, sunny and very hot, with temperatures climbing rapidly through the morning and peaking at around 34C during the afternoon and early evening. The chance of rain remains very low throughout the day.

Early morning

Thursday  will begin dry and sunny, with temperatures already around 19C by 7am and rising quickly to 21C by 8am and 24C by 9am.

Winds will be very light, coming from the east-south-east and south-east at around 2mph. Gusts are expected to stay low, between around 7mph and 9mph.

Visibility will be very good, while humidity will fall from around 54% at 7am to 40% by 9am. The chance of rain remains below 5%.

Midday

Late morning and lunchtime will be dry, sunny and increasingly hot.

Temperatures are forecast to rise from 27C at 10am to 30C by 11am and 31C by midday. By 1pm, temperatures are expected to reach around 32C, with the “feels like” temperature also around 32C.

Winds will come mainly from the south-east and south-south-east at around 2mph to 5mph, with gusts increasing to around 19mph by midday.

Visibility is expected to be excellent around midday and early afternoon, while humidity will drop sharply to around 20%. UV levels will be high, reaching 6 around midday and early afternoon, so sun protection is advisable for anyone spending time outdoors.

Afternoon

The afternoon is expected to be very hot, dry and sunny.

Temperatures are forecast to reach around 33C by 2pm, then 34C from 3pm through to 6pm. The “feels like” temperature will be around 32C to 33C during the hottest part of the day.

Winds will come mainly from the south-south-east at around 6mph to 7mph, with gusts around 21mph to 25mph. The chance of rain remains below 5% through most of the afternoon, rising briefly to around 10% at 6pm.

Humidity will remain very low, around 20%, while visibility will be excellent for much of the afternoon before becoming very good by early evening.

Evening

The evening will remain very warm and dry, with sunshine continuing into the early evening before clear spells develop later.

Temperatures are expected to fall from around 32C at 7pm to 30C by 8pm, 27C by 9pm and 25C by 10pm. By 11pm, temperatures are forecast to be around 24C.

Winds will turn from southerly to westerly and then north-westerly later in the evening, generally around 6mph to 8mph. Gusts will ease from around 26mph at 7pm to around 14mph by 11pm.

Visibility will remain very good through the evening. Humidity will rise gradually from around 26% at 7pm to 53% by 11pm. The chance of rain remains below 5%.
