Friday will be a noticeably milder day in Nottinghamshire, but it will turn unsettled with rain developing later in the morning and returning through the afternoon.

Early morning
A mild and mostly dry start, with temperatures around 8C from before sunrise. Skies remain generally clear at first, and there is less than a five per cent chance of rain. Light south-south-westerly winds of 12mph keep the air feeling slightly cooler but still unusually mild compared with earlier in the week. Humidity sits close to the high 80s.

Midday
Cloud increases steadily by late morning, and temperatures lift to around 9–10C. Rain becomes more likely between 10am and noon, with chances rising to around 20–30 per cent. Winds strengthen slightly, becoming steady from the south-south-west at around 14–15mph. Despite the clouds, visibility remains very good.

Afternoon
Rain probability rises sharply into the early afternoon, reaching around 60–70 per cent from 1pm to 3pm. Temperatures peak around 11C at midday before slipping back toward 9C by 3pm. Winds remain fresh from the south-west at around 14–15mph, bringing damp, milder air across the county. Some brief brighter spells are still possible between showers.

Evening
Showers fade after sunset, with rain chances falling below 10 per cent from 6pm onwards. Temperatures gradually fall from 9C to around 6C by late evening. Skies turn mostly clear with very little cloud after dark. South-westerly winds ease slightly from 14mph to around 11mph late in the evening, keeping conditions feeling mild and breezy rather than cold.
