Nottinghamshire weather for Tuesday 11 August

Tuesday 11 August is forecast to be dry, sunny and very warm, with temperatures rising quickly after a cool start and peaking at around 29C during the afternoon and early evening. The chance of rain remains below 5% throughout the day.

Early morning

Tuesday will begin dry and clear, with temperatures starting on the cool side before rising quickly after sunrise.

Temperatures are expected to be around 12C at 5am, dipping to 11C by 6am, before rising to 13C at 7am and 16C by 8am.

Winds will be very light, coming mainly from the east at around 2mph, with gusts close to 9mph. Visibility is expected to remain very good.

Humidity will be fairly high early on, around 78% to 79%, before easing through the morning. The chance of rain remains below 5%.

Midday

Late morning and lunchtime will stay dry and sunny, with temperatures climbing rapidly.

Temperatures are forecast to rise from 21C at 10am to 23C by 11am and 25C by midday. The “feels like” temperature will be close to the actual temperature, reaching around 24C by lunchtime.

Winds will turn from east-south-east to south-south-east, increasing to around 3mph to 6mph. Gusts are expected to rise to around 21mph by late morning and lunchtime.

Visibility will remain very good. Humidity will fall to around 40% by late morning and lunchtime. UV levels will become high, reaching 6 by 11am and 7 early in the afternoon, so sun protection is advisable for anyone spending time outdoors.

Afternoon

The afternoon is expected to be hot, dry and sunny, with long spells of sunshine.

Temperatures are forecast to reach 26C by 1pm, 27C by 2pm, 28C by 3pm and around 29C by 4pm and 5pm. The “feels like” temperature will be around 26C to 27C during the warmest part of the day.

Winds will come mainly from the south-south-east at around 6mph to 7mph, with gusts around 21mph to 22mph.

Evening

The evening will remain dry and warm, with sunshine continuing into the early evening before clear spells develop later.

Temperatures are expected to fall from around 29C at 5pm to 28C by 6pm, 27C by 7pm and 25C by 8pm. It will remain warm later in the evening, dropping to 23C by 9pm, 21C by 10pm and 19C by 11pm.

Winds will come mainly from the south-south-east at first, before turning south-east later in the evening. Speeds are expected to stay around 7mph to 8mph, with gusts between around 21mph and 24mph.

Visibility will remain very good throughout. Humidity will rise from around 23% early in the evening to around 51% by 11pm. The chance of rain remains below 5% throughout.
