To prepare for Phase 2 go the works, National Highways need to close three points around the Gamston roundabout this weekend.
Bingham Road junction update
National Highways update below
Our junction improvements work on the A52 at Bingham Road, in Radcliffe-on-Trent, is due to be completed by the end of June 2022.
Our original planned completion date was pushed back because we unexpectedly uncovered utility pipework and cabling, which meant we had to suspend work until inspections confirmed these services were no longer in use and could be capped off. Coupled with national shortages of essential materials, which have led to delayed deliveries, our revised completion date is forecast for the end of next month.
How does this affect the parking restrictions along Cropwell Road?
While the junction improvements work is continuing, we need to maintain the current parking restrictions on Cropwell Road. The parking restrictions are important because they enable us to keep traffic moving and ensure the safety of children travelling to and from school.
We understand the parking restrictions and construction work cause inconvenience for the local community. We thank you for your patience over the last six months and assure you we’ll continue to work as quickly and safely as possible.
Overnight road closure at Gamston roundabout: May 2022
We’re carrying out improvement work at Gamston roundabout, which is part of the A52 Nottingham Junction Improvement scheme. We’re currently in the first phase of our main works at this junction, and will be moving into Phase 2 from mid-May 2022.
During Phase 2, we’ll be working alongside the westbound carriageway of Radcliffe Road, as well as the northbound carriageway of the A52 approaching Gamston roundabout.
Before we can move into Phase 2, we need to put in place a weekend road closure so we can safely switch over our traffic management and move the concrete barriers.
Upcoming road closures
To prepare for Phase 2, we’ll need to close three points around the Gamston roundabout. The following closures will be in place on the nights of Friday 13 and Saturday 14 May 2022, from 8pm to 6am:
- A6011 Radcliffe Road at its junction with Ambleside.
- A52 Lings Bar Road, at the Tollerton Lane junction.
- A52 Radcliffe Road, at the Stragglethorpe Road junction.
