“We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train. This has occurred between Sheffield and Stockport and is disrupting our trains on the Liverpool Lime Street/ Nottingham/ Norwich route.
“Emergency services are en-route to manage the incident. We do not have an estimated time that they are due to arrive on site.
How does this affect my train?
‘Trains running through the area from Sheffield towards Liverpool Lime Street cannot run in both directions.
‘Trains running through the area from the Norwich/ Nottingham direction towards Sheffield can run but may be delayed.
‘We are looking at how this is going to affect our services from Norwich/ Nottingham towards Sheffield.
‘At present we are expecting the line to re-open in the next 3 hours. As soon as the line is open again, our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 18:55.’
