East Midlands Railways made the announcement at 6:36 pm 22 November.
EMR said:
‘We are sad to report a person has been hit by a train between Warrington Central and Liverpool Lime Street.
‘This is disrupting our trains on the Liverpool / Nottingham / Norwich routes. More information to follow.’
‘At present emergency services are en-route to manage the incident. We are currently awaiting an estimate of their arrival.’

Trains running through the area in both direction cannot run between Warrington Central and Liverpool South Parkway.
