East Midlands Railway announced the news this morning.
The incident affects the service to and from Nottingham and London St Pancras and the Sheffield route.
East Midlands Railway said at 7:30 am on Tuesday 23 April 2024:
‘We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train. This has occurred between Market Harborough and Leicester and is disrupting our trains on the Intercity routes.
Emergency services are en-route to manage the incident.
‘Trains running through the area in both directions cannot currently run between Market Harborough and Leicester.
‘At present we do not have an estimate as to when the line will re-open. As soon as the line is open again, our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again.’
