Police are appealing for information following a large fire in a field.
Emergency services were called to Breckbank, Mansfield, at around 2.55pm today (13 August), after receiving reports of a grasslands fire.
A nearby house and a number of vehicles have been damaged because of the blaze, which is currently being brought under control by firefighters.
There are no reports of any injuries being caused by the fire, although several houses in nearby Maunleigh have been evacuated as a precaution.
Road closures are currently in place at Barringer Road, Old Mill Lane and Ravensdale Road, in Mansfield.
Sergeant Joseph Hall, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We would urge anyone who witnessed what happened or has any information at all that could assist our enquiries to get in touch as soon as possible.
“This incident should serve as a reminder to everyone about the dangers of lighting fires in grasslands, especially in hot weather like we’re experiencing this weekend.
“Officers remain at the scene and are assisting fire crews from Nottinghamshire Fire and Service while they deal with the incident.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish what happened but we’d ask anyone with information to contact the police on 101, quoting incident 424 of 13 August 2022.”
