Police discovered a cannabis factory when they were called to reports a man had been threatened.
Officers found the man in Bells Lane, Aspley, Nottingham, around 12.20am on Monday (26 August) after he had approached members of the public.
He reported being chased from a property by a group of men.
Investigations led officers to Tunstall Crescent, Aspley, where they discovered cannabis was being cultivated in multiple rooms inside a house.
Almost 150 cannabis plants were found growing in bedrooms, the kitchen and the lounge area. The electricity supply to the property had also been bypassed.
Two men, aged 29 and 42, were arrested on suspicion of cultivating a Class B drug and have since been bailed while investigations continue.
Sergeant Karl Browne, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“The officers who attended the incident should be commended for this discovery, which has seen a large cannabis grow put out of action.
“The production of this drug is invariably accompanied by wider criminality and the organised criminals behind them bring nothing but problems for our neighbourhoods.
“If you suspect a grow is located near to where you live, please get in touch with police.
“The plants have been seized and destroyed while the equipment associated with the grow will now be dismantled and put beyond use.”
Anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 12 of 26 August 2024, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
