Police patrol Cotgrave Country Park after reports of vandalism

Owing to reports of criminal damage, noise nuisance and littering police officers have been out in Cotgrave County Park on patrol, damage was reported to the new green shelters in the park last week.

Police in Rushcliffe said:

‘These are an important community asset and along with the other signs, benches and amenities are there for the whole community to enjoy.

‘Volunteers from the Friends of Cotgrave Country Park, The Grantham Canal Society and Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust along with staff from the Canal and Rivers Trust, Nottinghamshire County Council, Rushcliffe Borough Council and Cotgrave Town Council have spent thousands of hours working on the park and the canal to make it into the leisure area it is today.

‘Their dedication and hard work is replicated across the Borough at other Green and Blue spaces where volunteers from a wide range of organisations and clubs and staff from Town and Parish Councils make sure sports pitches, parks, nature reserves and country parks are safe and pleasant to use.

‘We don’t want to see this hard work made harder and the community amenities damaged by vandals.

‘If you see criminal damage being committed, please report to the police on 999 or 101, if you find damage after it has been caused, please report it to 101 or online.’
