Police officers investigating an incident in which a man was hit by a car are appealing for witnesses.

He was standing outside a Newark pub in the car park when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle.

The man sustained several fractures following the collision, outside The Lord Ted, in Farndon Road.

This happened around 4pm on 18 April, but wasn’t reported to the police until a day later (19 April).

Inspector Charlotte Ellam, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“We are still trying to establish exactly what happened here and whether this collision was deliberate.

“What we do know for sure is that a man sustained some serious injuries in this incident, so we want to find out who was responsible.

“On that note, we’ve released an image of a woman who we believe could assist our ongoing investigation.

“While her face isn’t visible, our hope is that she’ll see this appeal, recognise herself from the clothes she’s wearing, and reach out to us.

“It’s important that anyone who saw or heard what happened contacts us, so if that was you, please don’t hesitate to pick up the phone.”

Information can be reported to the police on 101, quoting incident 579 of 19 April 2026, while Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
