Police share images after knifepoint Co-op robbery in Nottingham

Detectives investigating a knifepoint robbery at a shop have released CCTV images of a man they want to identify and speak to in connection with the incident.

An offender, who was wearing a black face covering, entered the Co-op in Bracebridge Drive, Bilborough, shortly before 10 pm on Tuesday (19 March 2024).

He repeatedly brandished a knife, threatened staff, and demanded money out of the till before leaving with a quantity of cash. He then left the store and ran off towards the Graylands Road area.

No-one was hurt during the incident. Police searched the area following the report and investigators are continuing with their inquiries into the incident, including scouring CCTV footage.

The man pictured, who detectives want to trace as part of their ongoing investigation, is white, of large build, and was wearing a black hoody, grey tracksuit bottoms, and dark-coloured trainers with white soles. It’s believed he was wearing a white top under his hoody.

Detective Sergeant Simon Carter, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Thankfully no-one was hurt during this shocking incident, but the shop workers were left extremely shaken by the ordeal they were put through.

“While we appreciate the CCTV images are not of the best quality, we are hoping people may recognise this man by his stocky build or by the clothing he is wearing.

“If you recognise him please call us on 101, quoting incident number 802 of 19 March 2024, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“Similarly, we are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of the store in Bracebridge Drive shortly before 10pm on Tuesday who may recognise this man or saw anyone or anything suspicious to contact us.”
