Poundstretcher, the discount retailer, is set to re-open the former Poundland store on Beeston High Road next week, with doors opening on Friday, 20 February.
The new 5,327 sq ft Beeston store will create up to 15 local jobs, including opportunities for several former Poundland employees. Bargain hunters can expect a huge choice of branded and non-branded bargains, spanning clothing, DIY, gardening, health & beauty, home décor, snacks, storage, sweets and drinks. The store will also feature Pet Hut, where savvy shoppers can buy hundreds of discounted products for pets.
Andy Atkinson, Chief Executive Officer of Poundstretcher, said: “With household budgets still under pressure, Poundstretcher is committed to expanding our store network across the UK and making it easier for even more people to access quality branded and non-branded products at prices they can trust.”
Poundstretcher, which was founded in 1981, was acquired by Fortress Investment Group in April 2024. Since then, it has opened new stores in Banbury, Bognor Regis, Hinckley, Kimberley, Leicester, Portsmouth, Shepherd’s Bush, Strood, Sutton-in-Ashfield and Truro, creating over 100 new jobs in the process.
