A planning application has been submitted for the expansion of the Health Centre in Radcliffe on Trent.
The application proposes a partial redevelopment and extension of the existing facility on Main Road, creating seven new consulting rooms through a combination of new build and reconfiguration of the current site.
The plans include:
Six new consulting rooms within a purpose-built extension
A further consulting room created through an extension
Improvements to the building layout and patient flow
Enhanced facilities, including cycle parking and a new entrance canopy
The development has been designed to make efficient use of the existing building, minimising demolition and incorporating energy-efficient measures to reduce long-term running costs and environmental impact.
James Naish, MP for Rushcliffe said: “This is another really important step forward for the Radcliffe-on-Trent community.
“The submission of a planning application marks a key milestone after years of discussions about the modernisation of the health centre. Many thanks to all the stakeholders who are working very hard to make sure that the current proposal happens.
“I have consistently raised the need for improved small and medium-sized health centres in Parliament, as well as with the leadership team of the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board (ICB), so I’m delighted to see progress being made in Radcliffe-on-Trent.
“There are challenges elsewhere in Rushcliffe, such as in East Leake, which I continue to speak to the ICB about.”
The application will now be considered by Rushcliffe Borough Council, with further updates expected over the summer months.
Work is also underway in Gamston, where a two-storey extension, more waiting room space and extra offices are being added to Gamston Medical Centre. Construction started in mid-January and is expected to last until the end of 2026.
