Rail passengers urged not to travel to Lincoln Christmas Market by train due to strike action by RMT union

Strike Action by members of the RMT union has been announced for Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th December 2021.

EMR urges customers to make alternative travel arrangements to visit Lincoln Christmas Market.

East Midlands Railways said:

‘The deeply disappointing decision by the RMT to escalate their strike action and coincide new strike dates with Lincoln Christmas Market as well as major football matches means there will be significantly fewer staff available to work on trains.

‘As such, EMR Regional, EMR Intercity and EMR Connect services will all be significantly reduced.

‘We have done everything we can to prioritise services to and from Lincoln.

‘However, it is clear this level of service will not be sufficient to provide adequate capacity for the thousands of customers expected to travel to Lincoln over the weekend and therefore we’re urging visitors to use alternative methods and not travel with East Midlands Railway. This is particularly acute for services between Nottingham and Lincoln.’
