A Hucknall resident has been fined a total of £1928.27 for failing to remove a large amount of waste from outside their property.
Following complaints from the local community, Ashfield District Council issued a Community Protection Notice (CPN) requiring the person responsible to clear the rubbish.
The notice was ignored so the Council took action. The resident was ordered to pay a fine, court costs and a victim surcharge, totalling £1,928.27.
The Council’s Community Safety Manager Antonio Taylor said:
“We’re working hard with partners to ensure a safer and cleaner Ashfield and this action demonstrates that we will take action against fly tipping, rubbish dumping and littering in our District.
Over the past month, we have delivered the Ashfield Big Spring Clean which has been one of the most successful to date. The service provides opportunity for Ashfield residents to dispose of their bulky waste for free and to encourage residents to dispose of their waste correctly’’
