Neighbourhood police officers carried out patrols across university campuses and surrounding villages in Rushcliffe yesterday following reports of suspicious activity and an attempted vehicle theft.
Police were alerted to an attempted theft of a motorcycle at Nottingham Trent University’s Clifton Campus. Around the same time, officers were also responding to reports of suspicious behaviour at University Park, the main campus of the University of Nottingham, where an electric motorcycle failed to stop for police.

After assisting response teams from Rushcliffe and City South in Clifton, a Cotgrave neighbourhood policing officer carried out further checks at the University of Nottingham’s Sutton Bonington campus. Officers inspected parking areas and patrolled nearby roads and villages between the River Soar and Clifton as part of reassurance and preventative policing activity.
During the same period, Rushcliffe response officers also attended an incident near Stanford on Soar after a member of the public’s vehicle was left undriveable when it struck a pothole on a rural road.
Most roads in Rushcliffe are maintained by Nottinghamshire County Council, which is responsible for highway maintenance across the area.
