Rushcliffe Spencer Academy receives gold in Career Mark award

On May 3 Rushcliffe Spencer Academy careers team undertook an assessment day for the Quality in Careers Standard by Complete Careers.

They received the Career Mark Gold award for continuous good practice.

Career Mark is a set of standards used to measure how effectively careers provision is delivered and managed.  Five standards make up the framework, four measuring how the careers provision is managed and delivered, with the fifth measure focussing on learner outcomes.

The report says that: “Rushcliffe Spencer Academy has invested in excellence in the careers programme demonstrating a commitment to maintain high standards with repeated successful submissions for the Quality in Careers Standard.

“This is an excellent achievement and recognises the quality and breadth of the careers provision.”

The Career Mark Award recognises that the school meets high standards in providing young people with up-to-date information about the options available and the changing landscape of careers, including the importance of career management skills.

The award also recognises the high level of information, advice and guidance provided for young people to make successful transitions into GCSE, post 16 and 18 options.

Mr Painton, the Principal, said: “This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the quality of the support, guidance and experiences from which Rushcliffe pupils benefit. Year-on-year we develop our careers provision and I am delighted that Complete Careers have acknowledged the sustained impact it is having with this Gold Award.
