With burglary being one of the three local priorities for Rushcliffe for April, May and June, officers are out in the rural villages and the road network in Rushcliffe targeting those who seek to commit acquisitive crime in Rushcliffe.
They are using night vision equipment and automatic number plate recognition to aid the old fashioned “copper’s nose” looking for people who might be up to no good in your neighbourhood.
Officers have a number of powers from the Road Traffic Act for vehicle based offenders using the road network to travel to Nottinghamshire to commit crime to the Vagrancy act offence of found on enclosed premises officers will challenge offenders and use all legal means to detect offences.
So if you experience suspicious vehicles or people around homes, farms, businesses and building sites please report them to the police at the time so officers can try to apprehend offenders at the time of the incident.
As always local officers can call upon officers from Operational Support with drones, dogs and specialist vehicles when required.
