Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, car parks and playpark will be closed throughout Sunday 25 October due to forecast high winds.
The closure has been announced as strong winds are expected to affect Nottinghamshire over the weekend.
Visitors are also being advised not to enter the forest during the severe weather because of the risks associated with high winds in woodland areas.
In a statement, Sherwood Forest said:
“Due to the forecast high winds, the Visitor Centre, car parks and playpark will be CLOSED ALL DAY Sunday 25th October 2026.
“Woodlands can be dangerous in high winds. We do not recommend entering the forest under the current conditions.”
The closure comes as a Met Office yellow weather warning for strong winds remains in place across Nottinghamshire until 9pm on Sunday.
Visitors are advised to check for updates before planning a visit once conditions improve.
