Police drone deployed after report of shots fired from boat in Beeston

A drone was deployed following the report and officers also seized two air weapons from a boat.

Police are interviewing a man voluntarily after responding to a report of an air rifle being fired from a moored boat in Beeston.

Officers were called to Canal Side shortly after 4.50pm today (Thursday 5 March 2020).

No reports were received of any injuries.

Police attended and are currently questioning a man aged in his 50s in connection with the incident.

Sergeant Usha Madaara, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this isolated incident which we quickly responded to.

“If anyone has any information about the incident I would ask them to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 612 of 5 March 2020.”
