A 16-year-old boy has been arrested as detectives continue their investigation into a stabbing.
Officers were called to Lower Parliament Street, Nottingham, at around 12.45pm on Friday 30 September 2022 after a 17-year-old boy was injured during a street fight.
The teenager was taken to hospital with chest and leg injuries which are not currently believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.
He was arrested during the early hours of Saturday 1 October 2022 on suspicion of affray, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of cannabis. He remains in custody.
Eighteen-year-old Jody Small appeared before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday (3 October 2022) charged with possession of a knife in a public place, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs in relation to the incident.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 7 November 2022.
Following further inquiries, a 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder this morning (Tuesday 4 October 2022) and remains in police custody.
Detectives are carrying out door-to-door inquiries around the area and analysing CCTV footage.
Detective Inspector Jon Kerry, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This is very much an ongoing investigation and while I am pleased we have arrested another suspect in relation to the incident we still need anyone who can help to come forward.
“We are urging anyone who saw what happened or anyone who may have recorded CCTV, dash-cam or mobile phone footage which could help us with our investigation to please get in touch if they haven’t already done so.
“This was a very serious incident and the injuries caused could have been much worse. It shows once again the potentially devastating consequences of carrying a knife and why we take every report of knife crime we receive so seriously.”
