Teenagers arrested after Nottingham pub break-in

Two teenagers have been arrested after officers were called to a break in at a pub.

Police received reports that an alarm had been triggered and a group of boys had broken into The Grosvenor pub in Mansfield Road, Sherwood.

A quantity of alcohol is believed to have been taken before they ran off from the scene.

Two boys, both aged 16, have since been arrested on suspicion of burglary in relation to the incident, which is believed to have happened at around 12.50am on Wednesday (16 February 2022).

Sergeant Rob Palethorpe, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Local business are so important to the community so it is appalling that a pub has had stock stolen and their premises broken into.

“This is their livelihood and incidents like this have a significant impact on both their businesses, financially, and on their day-to-day life.

“Officers have been very swift to arrest two suspects and I hope this prompt action goes to reassure the public of just how seriously we take these reports.

“Our investigation continues and we would ask anyone with information, or anyone who witnessed the incident, to contact Nottinghamshire Police, quoting Incident 31 of 16 February 2022”.
