Bridgford Social Club brings an exciting new name to Rectory Road in the heart of West Bridgford.
Formerly trading as the West Bridgford Conservative Club, the venue has recently been refurbished and offers members the benefits of secure keypad entry and air conditioning throughout both the comfortable lounge and separate, well-appointed bar area, which houses both a pool table and a dartboard. There is also a dedicated snooker room with three immaculately maintained full-sized tables.
The Club is open four lunchtimes and five evenings most weeks of the year. The bar is well stocked with beers, including a variety of alcohol-free options, spirits, wines, soft drinks, teas/coffees, and snacks. A wide variety of filled rolls is also available most lunchtimes. And all of this is offered at some of the most competitive prices in the area.
A variety of events and entertainment is always offered, including live music most Saturday evenings, for which entry is free for members. There are also regular weekly social events, including bingo and quizzes. In addition, regular seasonal events take place throughout the year, such as the well-attended themed evening meals – for example, on Burns Night and at Halloween – summer barbecues, themed music nights and, of course, the ever-popular New Year’s Eve Party and Buffet, with a live act to take our members and their guests into the New Year.
There is free car parking available on-site, wheelchair accessibility, and baby changing facilities, the Club provides a welcome to everyone.
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcomed at any time. Members may also bring guests with them, for which there is a nominal charge from just £1 per person for each visit (£5 for guest admittance on Saturdays with live music).
Private function rooms are available for private celebrations and events, presentations, community meetings, and business events. These can be booked free of charge by members and can be hired by non-members at only a modest cost. A variety of hot and cold buffets to suit all diets and prepared freshly in the Club kitchen are available to order at very attractive prices to supplement room bookings.
Tracy Shepley, Club Secretary, said:
‘Despite its former name, the Club has never been a part of the Conservative Party, and our members have now decided that, going forward, the Club’s name should better reflect what we really are: a safe, friendly, welcoming and inclusive social venue for everyone in the area to enjoy – whether single, a couple, a family, or a group of friends, and irrespective of political leanings.
‘So, whether you just want a quiet drink and a chat, the friendly challenge of a game of snooker, or to let your hair down to some really great live music, you’ll be warmly welcomed.’
‘The Club currently has well over 200 members, and we welcome new applications for membership at all times of the year (subject to compliance with Club rules). Our new website can be found at bridgfordsocialclub.org.uk, where a wealth of information about the Club and membership benefits can be found.’
