Police made three arrests and seized suspected Class A drugs during a successful operation to crack down on drug crime.
A man is detained after a brief foot chase and another man and a woman are arrested after police teams executed a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at an address in Newark.
Packages containing brown powder were found in a garden and officers also seized a quantity of cash, drugs paraphernalia and burner-type phones from the address.
The raid, which involved officers from Newark and Sherwood Operation Reacher and neighbourhood policing teams, is featured in tonight’s brand new action-packed episode of Police Interceptors.
Sergeant Mike Taylor, of the Newark and Sherwood Operation Reacher team, said: “We regularly carry out intelligence-led raids to disrupt the illegal supply of drugs on our streets.
“It’s our job to keep our communities safe so we will gather intelligence, investigate reports, and take positive action against those suspected of being involved in drug-related crime.
“We are committed to driving down drug offences as they are not only linked to so many other crimes, but offenders also tend to prey on vulnerable people, dragging them down into a life of misery.
“We are not just about tackling drug criminality though – we are here to address all the issues that affect our communities, from weapon-enabled crime to antisocial behaviour. One day we are executing a drugs warrant, the next we are running a speed camera operation in a hot-spot area.”
Meanwhile, in tonight’s episode, officers track down a stolen car and arrest two suspects, following searches in the Bulwell area, and a driver ends up facing court action after drawing the attention of officers for chucking litter in someone else’s skip.
