Motorists in Tollerton and surrounding areas are being urged to plan ahead as massive roadworks are set to begin this month.
A major gas mains replacement project will lead to temporary road closures affecting key routes in the area for over three months.
According to a notice issued by Via East Midlands in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council, Tollerton Lane, Burnside Grove, and Medina Drive will be subject to phased closures from Monday, 17 February 2025, until Monday, 19 May 2025. The works will be carried out by Cadent Gas as part of essential infrastructure upgrades.
Affected Areas
The temporary closures will impact the following locations:
- Tollerton Lane – From its junction with Burnside Grove, extending 300 metres northeast.
- Burnside Grove – From its junction with Tollerton Lane, extending 30 metres west.
- Medina Drive – From its junction with Tollerton Lane, extending 30 metres west.
These road closures are expected to cause delays, particularly for commuters and local businesses, prompting authorities to issue alternative routes to minimize disruptions.
Alternative Routes
Motorists are advised to follow the designated alternative routes:
- Tollerton Lane Diversion: Cotgrave Lane – Cotgrave Road – Melton Road, and vice versa.
- Burnside Grove Diversion: Stanstead Avenue – Melton Road, and vice versa.
