Parents and staff at Tollerton Primary School have collaborated with members of the local community to collect previously loved coats, which have been donated to the Sharewear Clothing Scheme.
With the colder weather looming, the school felt the timing to organise the collection was perfect. Almost 50 coats were donated—a lovely mixture, which included a whole range of styles for both adults and children.
Luci Gordon, the school’s Deputy Head (pictured), said: “Every child and adult deserves the warmth and comfort of a coat during the cold weather, and it has been lovely to play our part in making this happen.
“To think that items that have been pre-loved will soon be re-loved is what little projects like this are all about.”
Katie Smith, the school’s Headteacher, said: “The willingness and generosity of our school family and members of the wider community never ceases to amaze me.
“It doesn’t matter about the focus or the cause; they are incredibly supportive, and that is something we will never take for granted.”
Hayley from Sharewear said: “This is such a lovely gesture from a school that is very close to our ‘new’ doorstep, and I know all of the items will be appreciated enormously by those who find themselves in economic difficulty.”
