Two charged after series of violent street robberies in Nottingham

Two people have been charged for a string of recent violent street robberies.

Logan Davies, 18, from St Ann’s, Nottingham, and a 15-year-old boy who can’t be named, were arrested by officers earlier this week and have now been charged with a total of 42 offences (21 each) relating to recent 14 recent incidents in St Ann’s, Beeston, The Forest Recreation Ground, and Skegness.

The charges, which include robbery, attempted robbery, causing grievous bodily harm, possessing an imitation firearm, possessing a knife in a public place, and possessing an offensive weapon, relate to a series of offences from July and August of this year.

These include:

• an incident in Corporation Oaks, St Ann’s, at around 7.40pm on Thursday 16 July where two men targeted as they sat on a bench

• another incident in Corporation Oaks shorty before 1am on Thursday 30 July where a man suffered a broken jaw

• a knife-point robbery on the Forest Recreation Ground, Hyson Green, at around 3.30am on Tuesday 18 August

•  another robbery shortly before 10pm the following day in Palmerston Gardens, St Ann’s, where a man was threatened with an imitation firearm

• and an incident near Skegness Pier at around 7.30pm on Thursday 20 August during which a teenager was struck with a hammer.

Both have been remanded into custody.

Detective Sergeant Karl Thomas, from Nottinghamshire Police’s robbery team, said: “This has been a very demanding investigation that has involved a lot of joint working between various different policing teams in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

“At its heart are victims of various ages who have all gone through some very unpleasant and frightening experiences. I would like to thank all of those people for cooperating with us and to all the other witnesses who have come forward. We will continue with our enquires and make sure every effort is made to bring this case to a successful conclusion.”
