The fire Service ice attended on Saturday 27 January.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said:
‘This afternoon ( Sat 27 Jan ) just before 1300 Eastwood along with Ilkeston Community Fire Station were mobilised to a house fire on Devon Close, Newthorpe.
‘On arrival smoke was issuing from the house and dogs were reported to be trapped.
‘The crew from Eastwood quickly got to work trying to break entry through the front door.
‘Two Breathing Apparatus wearers with a hose reel were committed into the house to put out the fire and to rescue the dogs.
‘After searching the property the dogs were located and brought out. Crews from Ilkeston and Eastwood gave the dogs CPR and o2 to try and save them.
‘The owners of the dogs rushed them to a local vet to continue the work to save them.
The fire was started in the kitchen.’
