The incident happened on Mansfield Road in Nottingham on Wednesday 10 May.
An East Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “One of our fast response vehicles responding to a 999 call was involved in a road traffic collision involving a car in Carrington at 11:23 am on Wednesday 10 May.
“Three patients were assessed at the scene and were taken to Queen’s Medical Centre via crewed ambulance.
“The incident will be investigated by the police and it is therefore inappropriate to make any further comment at this time.”
Nottinghamshire Police said: “We were called at 11.26 am to the A60 in Carrington after a collision between an ambulance and a car.
“Two people travelling in the car have been taken to hospital. Thankfully their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time. The road has been closed and diversions are in place.”
