Cases
A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.
93,045 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on 17 December 2021.
Between 11 December 2021 and 17 December 2021, 477,229 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 38.6% compared to the previous 7 days.
Vaccinations
Vaccines are currently given in 2 doses, at least 21 days apart.
51,364,110 people had been given a first dose by the end of 16 December 2021.
46,886,162 people had been given a second dose by the end of 16 December 2021.
Healthcare
Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.
