From the week of 21 February 2022, the UK Health Security Agency stopped publishing dashboard updates at weekends.
The dashboard is updated daily from Monday to Friday. Daily cases and deaths by report date published on Mondays include figures from the preceding weekend. These will not be separated out to show daily figures for Saturday and Sunday. Cases by specimen date and deaths by date of death are separated out for each day.
Between 23 February 2022 and 1 March 2022, there have been 4,380,375 tests. This shows a decrease of -19.1% compared to the previous 7 days.
Cases
A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.
Between 24 February 2022 and 2 March 2022, 236,334 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows a decrease of -18.4% compared to the previous 7 days.
Vaccinations
Vaccines are currently given in 3 doses.
52,640,258 people had been given a first dose by the end of 1 March 2022.
49,029,528 people had been given a second dose by the end of 1 March 2022.
38,258,018 people had been given a booster or third dose by the end of 1 March 2022.
Healthcare
Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.
Between 20 February 2022 and 26 February 2022, 7,799 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows a decrease of -6.4% compared to the previous 7 days.
There were 10,733 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 1 March 2022.
Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.
There were 278 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 1 March 2022.
Deaths
Between 24 February 2022 and 2 March 2022, there have been 651 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows a decrease of -30.8% compared to the previous 7 days.
