The A46 in Leicestershire is closed northbound between the A607 (Syston) and the A607 (Cossington) following an incident involving an overturned lorry.

‘Our crews have now handed over this incident on the Hobby Horse Roundabout to the Highways Authority and Crouch Recovery. One person has been taken to hospital as a result of the incident.
‘Our partners are working to reopen the A46 to Melton soon, this is a very large vehicle that has shed its load, and motorists should continue to expect delays and plan alternate routes.’

Leicestershire Police and Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service are managing the scene, with support from National Highways, who are assisting with traffic control and clearing debris.

- From the A46 Wanlip junction and take the first exit and travel on the A6 north .
- At the A6/A6004 roundabout, follow the A6004 north west along Epinal Way.
- Turn right at Warwick Way to re-join the A6 at Loughborough town centre.
- Continue on the A6 north west for 3 miles until the signalised junction with the A6006, then turn right and follow the A6006 for 10 miles until it rejoins the A46 (T) at the Dalby junction.
*Please note that HGVs need to head south on the A46 to the A50 at Groby, then head north on the A50 to the M1 J22. Then head north on the M1 J24 to the A52 then east on the A52 to the A46 at Saxondale.
