Updates: Eight fire crews attend blaze at Strawberry Hill Heath

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service are at the scene of a blaze at Strawberry Hill Heath in Rainworth.

Sunday Update | 08:20 | 8 fire engines, High Volume Pump, Command Support and welfare unit are currently in attendance at Strawberry Hill Heath. Approximately 36,000sqm of woodland and undergrowth have been affected by this incident.

Sunday Update | 07:45 | Crews have remained on site overnight at the fire on Strawberry Hill Heath. Firefighting is expected to continue throughout the day.

3 pm update: ‘Firefighter operations continue at Strawberry Hill Heath, Mansfield, where a large area of woodland and shrubbery is currently alight.’

The service said at 2 pm Saturday 8 August 2026:

‘We currently have 8 fire engines as well as command support and water carrier at a fire in the open on Strawberry Hill Heath, Mansfield.

‘Please avoid the area and if local residents are affected by the smoke to keep doors and windows closed.’
