Victoria Centre is set to host a celebration of creativity and a student takeover this spring as Nottingham College returns for a third year – this time, bringing together both fashion and art students for a bold creative showcase.
Following the success of last year’s fashion-led pop-up, Nottingham’s leading city centre shopping destination will once again partner with the college from 28th March to 1st April, transforming the space into a hub of student creativity where visitors can discover the incredible work produced by talented students and experience a vibrant atmosphere filled with art, design and innovation.

For more than 50 years, Victoria Centre has been at the heart of Nottingham’s community. Championing local talent and celebrating the city’s creativity remain a key part of this story, and the centre is proud to provide a platform for the next generation of artists and designers to showcase their work and gain recognition.

For the first time, students from both the fashion and art courses will collaborate, showcasing their work through eye-catching displays, installations and original pieces that highlight the breadth of emerging talent in the city. Students from Level 1 through to degree level will be taking part, demonstrating the diverse range of skills and creativity being developed across the college.

From 10am to 4pm each day, the event will celebrate the creativity and innovation of the college’s emerging talent, featuring an impressive selection of their designs.
With so much to discover at Victoria Centre, the event highlights the value of in-person experiences, where visitors can see, touch and interact with creativity first-hand while enjoying the wide variety of brands and hidden gems available at Victoria Centre.
The showcase will offer visitors the chance to explore a diverse collection of student work, from paintings and sculptures to T-shirts and elaborately structured dresses. Each item will be carefully curated in a meaningful and unique way. Many of the pieces take inspiration from themes such as architecture and activism, reflecting the ideas and influences shaping the next generation of designers.
Visitors will also be invited to get hands-on with a range of interactive workshops, including crochet, bracelet-making, tote bag printing and more. These workshops will be open to everyone, with drop-in sessions also available throughout the event. Visitors will also have the opportunity to browse and purchase unique items from the stalls, including original artwork, handmade pieces and one-of-a-kind fashion designs.
The pop-up will be located near John Lewis on the Upper Mall within Victoria Centre and provides an exciting and accessible opportunity for Victoria Centre’s visitors to learn new skills and support local talent.
Nigel Wheatley, Centre Director at Victoria Centre, commented: “We’re thrilled to be hosting another Nottingham College pop-up, expanding the showcase to include the incredible work of both art and fashion students. It’s a brilliant celebration of our city’s young talent, and we can’t wait for our visitors to discover the incredible work they’ve produced this year and get stuck in with some of the interactive workshops and learn some new skills for themselves!”
Samantha Crowe from Nottingham College added: “The pop-up event, hosted at Victoria Centre, is always an exciting moment for our students, giving them the chance to share their creativity with the wider city. We’re thrilled to be back at Victoria Centre this March with vibrant new designs and fun, accessible workshops for everyone to enjoy.”
