Victoria Embankment Paddling Pool has reopened after being closed for almost three weeks because of a health and safety issue.
Nottingham City Council confirmed on Thursday 13 August that the popular water-play facility was back in use and ready to welcome families during the school summer holidays.
The pool temporarily closed on 24 July, with officials saying at the time that work was under way to resolve the issue and reopen it safely as soon as possible.
The closure came during a spell of hot weather and shortly after schools had broken up for the summer. Free family activities, including circus sessions, were offered at the site while the pool remained unavailable.
Announcing its reopening, the council said: “The Victoria Embankment Paddling Pool is back open and ready for some serious splashing.
“We know so many families have been waiting for this, so we’re absolutely delighted to say – come on in.”
Free Play with Clay sessions will also take place next to the paddling pool from 11am until 1pm.
The refurbished paddling pool and splash-pad facility opened in May 2025 following a £750,000 redevelopment. It replaced the former pool, which had been out of use since 2021 because of leaks and ageing infrastructure.
