West Bridgford Christmas Lights event announced for this season

The seasonal festivities will include music, entertainment, the returning indoor Christmas market and the traditional switching on of the Christmas lights.

West Bridgford Christmas Countdown event will take place on Saturday, November 21, from midday to 7pm.

The indoor festive market will take place at Lutterell Hall on Church Drive from midday to 7pm and showcase a variety of stalls from local and regional businesses, offering a chance to buy a range of seasonal treats to put a smile on the face of a friend or loved one.

Visitors can enjoy the seasonal festivities along Central Avenue from 2pm and browse a wide range of delicious food and drink stalls. The day will feature live entertainment and performances from local schools and community groups, creating a wonderful atmosphere for all ages.

The celebrations will continue with the big countdown to the lights switch-on at 5pm by the Mayor of Rushcliffe, Cllr Richard Butler, accompanied by enhanced festive illuminations and entertainment.

Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure & Wellbeing, Cllr Jonathan Wheeler, said: “The event builds on the great feedback we had on last year’s event and will have features to add new life to the festivities, including an enhanced illumination show and, of course, the traditional lights switch-on too.

“It’s set to be a wonderful way to start the season and for the community to come together and celebrate the lead-up to Christmas.

“After its success last year, the indoor market at Lutterell Hall will return. Visitors will be able to enjoy exploring seasonal gifts, treats and crafts, come rain or shine! It will be the perfect opportunity for some early Christmas shopping!

“There will be plenty of live music from our talented local community groups, schools and choirs, and lots of food and drink traders offering seasonal specials.”
