Rushcliffe Borough Council has begun legal action to remove the unauthorised encampment on Nursery Car Park ( M&S Food ) in West Bridgford.
Travellers arrived at the car park on Tuesday 1 September at around 6 pm.
Around 10 vehicles including cars and caravans remained at the site through the night and are still there this morning.
A RBC spokesperson said: “We are aware of an unauthorised encampment at Nursery car park in West Bridgford. Officers are working with Nottinghamshire Police and the relevant partners to address this. Legal proceedings have begun.”
