Melton Road in West Bridgford will be undergoing £400,000 of investment as part of the 2025/2026 Highways Programme announced today (21st March) by Nottinghamshire County Council.
There will be significant resurfacing work taking place from Melton Road shops through to Stamford Road, which has suffered from the recent winter weather.

Cllr Jonathan Wheeler of West Bridgford South Division, who covers the majority of Melton Road ward area told the Wire:
“I am delighted that this investment has been announced by Nottinghamshire County Council today to fix Melton Road.

“Despite being resurfaced less than 10 years ago, the shocking weather and heavy use of the road has caused significant damage. We have seen significant patching further up Melton Road, so to see the rest of the road see works as well is much welcomed.

“Colleagues at the County Council and I have been lobbying the East Midlands Mayor for a share of the £1.5billion transport fund she was allocated by the previous Conservative Government, and although we haven’t had as much as we want, the few extra million pounds added to the money the County Council is investing will allow lots more repairs throughout West Bridgford and Rushcliffe. I also want to see developers pay towards fixing roads following large developments nearby.”
