Wildlife ‘at risk’ after food waste and rubbish left at Wollaton Park

Food waste and rubbish bags have been left under a tree at the park.

Nottingham City Council who operate the park said:

‘This is NOT acceptable

‘This morning we found two large rubbish bags dumped under a tree. While bagging waste is a good start, leaving it at the bottom of a tree (or next to a bin) is not appropriate.

‘Wildlife had already ripped them open, spreading rubbish everywhere. In a deer park and green space, this puts nature at risk and leaves the park looking unsightly for our many visitors.

‘We have 70+ bins across the site, including wheelie bins – in every field, along every path, and at every entrance. There is no excuse.

‘If you bring it in, bin it or take it home. Let’s keep the park safe, clean, and beautiful.’
