Woman sexually assaulted in Radford – image released by police

Police are appealing for witnesses after reports of a sexual assault in Radford.

That is after a woman was reportedly groped on her morning walk.

The victim was walking along Churchfield Lane when she noticed someone appear behind her from Knighton Avenue.

She crossed the road and was followed, before being grabbed from behind near St. Peters Church, close to the junction with Hartley Road.

The woman screamed, and the individual ran off back up Churchfield Lane toward Alfreton Road.

Police have been investigating the incident ever since, conducting CCTV and door-to-door inquiries.

Officers can now release an image of someone, believed to be a teenage boy, they would like to speak with as part of their inquiries into the incident that happened around 8am on 23 May.

He is described as a Black male, wearing a black hoodie, black trainers, and distinct black jogging bottoms with yellow stripes.

Sergeant Karl Browne, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This is a deeply unpleasant incident and has understandably left the victim distressed.

“Violence against women and girls is a force priority and is always treated with the utmost seriousness, and we’re determined to locate the person responsible.

“We’re keen to speak with the person in this picture immediately, believed to be a teenage boy. We think he could have valuable information that could assist our ongoing inquiries.

“Were you in the area at the time? Do you know the person in this image? Are you the person in this image? Please get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
