Youths rob man at knifepoint in The Meadows

Police are investigating after a man was reportedly assaulted and threatened with a knife before having his bicycle stolen.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was reportedly approached by two or three youths in an alleyway near Hope Close, The Meadows, shortly after 7.51 pm yesterday (Tuesday) evening.

After pushing the victim to the ground and threatening him, the youths fled the scene.

The victim suffered minor cuts and bruises but was not seriously injured.

The stolen bicycle is described as a black mountain bike with red petals and red handlebars. One of the suspects is described as white, of a slim build with distinctive shoulder-length braided hair.

Detective Sergeant Nick Wood, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a nasty and violent robbery and I am determined to track down the person responsible as quickly as possible. If you witnessed this incident or have any information that may help our investigation please don’t hesitate to get in touch by calling 101 and quoting incident number 677 of 1 September.”
