Testing is where we do a test to see who has Coronavirus. Some people are tested more than once.

There were 234,189 tests reported on 16 November 2020.

Between 20 April and 16 November 2020, there have been 36,513,502 tests.

 Confirmed cases

A confirmed case is where a person has had a positive test result for Coronavirus.

There were 20,051 new people with a confirmed positive test result reported on 17 November 2020.

Between 31 January and 17 November 2020, there have been 1,410,732 people who have had a confirmed positive test result.

 

 

 Healthcare

Some people with Coronavirus have to go into hospital.

1,601 people with Coronavirus had to go into hospital on 13 November 2020.

Between 23 March and 13 November 2020, there have been 196,559 people who have had to go into hospital with Coronavirus.

There were 15,830 people in hospital with Coronavirus on 15 November 2020.

Some people who go to the hospital need to use a special device called a Mechanical Ventilator to help them breathe.

There were 1,391 Coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 16 November 2020.

 

 Deaths

Sadly, many people have died.

There were 598 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for Coronavirus reported on 17 November 2020.

Between 2 March and 16 November 2020, there have been 52,744 deaths within 28 days of a positive Coronavirus test.
