£200 stolen from 78-year-old woman in Clifton – image released

A 78-year-old woman had £200 stolen from her after being unsettled by a man who stood behind her and forgot she had left her bank card in a cash machine.

The victim had requested a statement but felt uneasy about a man watching her as he waited to use the machine.

She stepped away from the machine, telling the man she would use it after him, but forgot her bank card was still active inside the device.

He then used her bank card and withdrew £200 before walking away with her money and card.

Police are continuing with their inquiries to trace the person responsible and have now issued a CCTV image of a man they’d like to speak to who they believe could help them with their ongoing investigation.
