£200,000 cannabis factory discovered in Nottinghamshire property

Officers from the Mansfield North Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a warrant on Mansfield Woodhouse High Street after discovering a large-scale cannabis grow inside a property.

Police said the occupant attempted to climb onto the roof as officers forced entry, but later surrendered without further incident.

The property had been heavily reinforced, with welded steel frames and doors fitted to all entry points. Around 198 cannabis plants were recovered from inside.

Police said cannabis grows present a significant risk to public safety, particularly because electricity supplies are often illegally bypassed, creating a serious fire hazard. They added that such operations can also be linked to wider criminal activity, including rival groups targeting properties.

Anyone with information about suspected cannabis cultivation or drug dealing is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, via the force’s website, or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
