27 November – Covid: UK – 521 deaths – see cases and hospital numbers

Covid update for the UK for Wednesday 25 November.

Public Health England note:

Due to a processing update, 141 previously published deaths within 28 days in England were excluded from the published data on 21 November.

This issue has now been corrected for data published on 22 November, which includes deaths omitted yesterday in today’s total and daily number of newly reported deaths.

There were 356,026 tests reported on 25 November 2020.

Between 20 April and 25 November 2020, there have been 39,504,682 tests.

 

 Confirmed cases

A confirmed case is where a person has had a positive test result for Coronavirus.

There were 383,521 tests reported on 26 November 2020.

Between 20 April and 26 November 2020, there have been 39,888,901 tests.

 

 Confirmed cases

A confirmed case is where a person has had a positive test result for Coronavirus.

There were 16,022 new people with a confirmed positive test result reported on 27 November 2020.

Between 31 January and 27 November 2020, there have been 1,589,301 people who have had a confirmed positive test result.

 

 

 Healthcare

Some people with Coronavirus have to go into hospital.

1,471 people with Coronavirus had to go into hospital on 22 November 2020.

Between 23 March and 22 November 2020, there have been 211,422 people who have had to go into hospital with Coronavirus.

There were 16,064 people in hospital with Coronavirus on 25 November 2020.

Some people who go to the hospital need to use a special device called a Mechanical Ventilator to help them breathe.

There were 1,456 Coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 26 November 2020.

 

 Deaths

Sadly, many people have died.

There were 521 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for Coronavirus reported on 27 November 2020.

Between 2 March and 25 November 2020, there have been 57,400 deaths within 28 days of a positive Coronavirus test.
