Police, acting on intelligence, stopped the vehicle on the A453, near Ratcliffe-on-Soar, around 10.50am on Thursday (18 April).
A large amount of the Class B drug, with a street value of £430,000, was discovered in bags inside the van and two suspects were arrested.
Shyqyri Asllani, aged 29, of no fixed abode, and 18-year-old Leonid Sade, of Alma Road, Enfield, London, have been charged with possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.
Asllani has also been charged with driving without insurance.
Both men appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (20 April) and were remanded in custody until their next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on 17 May.
Detective Inspector James Oakton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“The officers on patrol should be commended for their vigilance and determination, which have allowed us to seize and destroy a large quantity of drugs.
“I’m pleased our investigations have now led to these two suspects being placed before the courts.”
