Boy, 17, charged after report of suspect carrying knife in city centre

No-one is believed to have been injured during the incident.

A teenager has appeared in court following a report of a suspect carrying a knife in Nottingham city centre after a disturbance involving a group of people.

The 17-year-old boy, who can’t be identified for legal reasons, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 9 March 2020) charged with affray and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

He was granted conditional bail to re-appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (11 March 2020).

Nottinghamshire Police were called at around 4.20pm on Saturday (7 March 2020) following a small disturbance in the Hockley area of the city.

Officers were on the scene in just four minutes, where they soon managed to both arrest a suspect and recover a knife following a short foot chase.

No-one is believed to have been injured during the incident.

A 15-year-old boy has also been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed article in a public place. He has been released on conditional bail.
